DIY Dried Citrus Garland!
A dried citrus garland is a simple and easy DIY project you can do from the comfort of your own home this holiday season! Dried citrus can have many uses from craft projects to cocktail garnishes and you can even incorporate it in to your wedding! It’s not just used as garland during the holiday season.
Preheat your oven to 200° Fahrenheit. Slice your citrus and place on a parchment paper lined baking sheet. I used a serrated knife - it is much easier to slice citrus with! Also, gently pat your slices dry with some paper towels. The more moisture you can soak up, the faster they’ll dry!
Cook for about 2-4 hours, checking on them every so often to make sure they aren’t turning brown. If some are starting to turn brown pull them out from the oven and place on a cooling rack. The timing is going to depend on how thick you cut your citrus and on your oven! I flipped my slices over at the 2 hour mark and it took almost 4 hours.
Once they are done you can start stringing them together. They will continue to dry out on the garland!
I used dried orange slices, bay leaves and wooden beads to create this garland! Get creative with your garlands! Happy crafting!!
