It’s okay to take it slow because these are the most thoughtfully curated words that you will ever say to your partner and love of your life – once you get the flow going it will be much easier from there! The best thing to do is not only start from walking down memory lane at the very beginning but also write out some questions that you need to answer about your relationship and partner. These answers will help inspire you with creativity to begin writing your vows in a personalized, romantic, quirky, fun-loving way that is just like you envisioned!

Here is a guideline and some things to think about when writing your vows:

  • First Impressions! What were your thoughts when you first met or interacted your partner? Where was it and how did you come across each other?

  • The First Date! Where was your first date? Did anything funny or romantic happen? Anything happen that made you think that this could be someone special?!

  • The Moment You Fell In Love! When did you realize that you loved your partner?

  • Life is Good! Why is life better with your partner?

  • Experiences! Think about any life changing, funny, exciting experiences or moments that you had with one another!

  • Look Into the Future! Where do you see each other 10, 25, 50 years from now!

  • Tradition! Do you want to include any wording from some of the traditional vows that are out there?

  • Inspiration! How does your partner inspire you on the daily and in life!

  • Pinky Promise! What promises do you have to solidify your marriage? These promises can be customized to your life together!

  • Marriage! What is the meaning of marriage to your partner mean to you? What are you most looking forward to marrying your partner?
